Guram Karazanashvili’s many years of experience and the success achieved in robotic surgery once again came into the focus of the international medical community at the International Conference on Robotic Surgery held on March 21–22 in Chengdu, China.
The mentioned forum represented one of the most important platforms, where leading specialists of modern
urology and minimally invasive surgery gathered. Representatives of the urological elite from China, Asia, Europe, and America participated in the conference, who discussed the latest achievements in robotic surgery, innovative technologies, and modern standards of clinical practice.
West China Hospital is one of the leading medical centers in China and Asia; it became an innovative space where an innovative tele-surgery platform was officially launched. This system establishes a completely new reality in medicine.
It is noteworthy that technological progress made it possible, through the ultra-modern robot Toumai, to carry out surgical interventions at distances from 2,000 to 19,000 kilometers. This means that distance no longer represents a barrier: a highly qualified surgeon can already manage the surgical process from another continent, in real time and with millimeter precision.
It is a matter of pride that the technology, which today is considered the pinnacle of world medicine and a vision of the future, has already been a part of daily practice for two years in Georgia, at the Karazanashvili Robotic Center. Professor Guram Karazanashvili is the founder of robotic surgery in
Georgia and in the entire Caucasus region.
Over the last two years, using the ultra-modern Toumai robot, the professor has performed more than 300 highly complex operations on the prostate, kidney, and urinary bladder.
As of today, the Karazanashvili Robotic Center possesses one of the leading practices in the world in the field of robotic surgery and continues to implement modern standards.
As a result, Georgian patients have the opportunity to receive treatment in their own country that fully corresponds to the highest level of world medicine. Professor Karazanashvili’s international recognition is yet another confirmation that Georgia firmly occupies a place on the global map of high-tech medicine.
