2024 – He has Founded the Robotic Surgery for the first time in history of Georgia and the Caucasus region
2023 – the first in the world to develop the prostate cancer early detection and screening strategy using microscopic ultrasound 29MHz (European Congress of Uro-Oncology, Gothenburg, Sweden UROONCO2023; Congress of the International Society of Urology, Istanbul, Turkey, SIU/WUOF2023)
2022 – for the first time in Georgia and in the Caucasus, Black and Caspian Sea region, a network of prostate cancer screening and early detection centers using microscopic ultrasound 29MHz was established
2021 – for the first time in Georgia and in the Caucasus robotic focal therapy of prostate cancer using high-frequency focused ultrasound (HIFU) was introduced and developed
2021 – for the first time in Georgia and in the Caucasus, Black and Caspian Sea region, trans-perineal, targeted/”fusion” biopsies of the prostate were introduced based on micro-ultrasound 29MHz
2020 – for the first time in Georgia, in the region of the Caucasus, Black and Caspian Sea, microscopic ultrasound 29 MHz was introduced
2018 – the original surgical technique of eliminating bladder cancer and creating an artificial neobladder, which significantly reduces complications and improves the quality of life. In 2002, minimally invasive, endoscopic urological operations (TUR, URS) were introduced for the first time at the Tbilisi State Medical University Urology Department, at Republican Central Clinical Hospital, Tbilisi, Georgia
In 2001, he developed a method to improve prostate cancer screening based on prostate-specific antigen (Eur Urol. 2001 May; 39(5):538-43. doi: 10.1159/000052500)
In 1996, a prostate cancer screening method was introduced in Georgia – quantitative determination of prostate-specific antigen in the blood. Later, with his own support, this method was introduced in the Medical-Diagnostic center (former “Vakis Lechkobinati”) and Al. Tsulukidze National Center of Urology, Tbilisi, Georgia
