Professor Guram Karazanashvili performed a complicated surgery at the Uzbekistan Oncology Center.
The National Scientific Center of Oncology of Uzbekistan published a statement:
“Dear friends, we are glad to announce that today is an important day in the life of our Center! A famous urologic surgeon, Professor Guram Karazanashvili, the President of the Georgian Association of Oncological Urology working at MMT Hospital in Georgia, has visited us. The Professor met with the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Professor Alisher Shadmanov. The Minister thanked Professor Guram Karazanashvili for the visit and expressed his desire to strengthen relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan.
The Director of the Center, Professor Mirzagoleb Tulyashayhov, gave the guest a tour around the Center and then made a round of the Oncourology Department together with Professor Guram Karazanashvili, to share experiences: it was very important to get the guest’s advice on treatment tactics for oncourological patients.
In the afternoon, a surgery, the nerve sparing prostatectomy with formation of cystourethroneoanastomosis, was performed. This tactic will enable the patient to remain sexually active in the future.
It should be noted that the surgery was performed using a high-frequency ultrasonic knife, which significantly reduces blood loss during a surgery.
The entire team of the Center express their deepest gratitude to Professor Guram Karazanashvili for sharing his experience. We hope that our collaboration with Georgian oncourologists will be even more fruitful in the future!”
