👉🏿🏆 Prostate cancer is completely curable when detected early
🔬 Innovative prostate cancer screening ensures early detection of prostate cancer with 96% accuracy
🎥 In the video, prostate cancer screening is discussed by Professor Guram Karazanashvili — founder of robotic surgery in Georgia and the Caucasus, member of the Executive Board of the World Federation of Oncological Urology, laureate of the National Prize of Georgia for contribution to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, expert of the Ministry of Health in urology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, urologist, onco-urologist, and robotic surgeon
🩺 What methods are used today for the diagnosis of prostate cancer?
💠 Traditional ultrasound — a widely used method, however even the best equipment detects prostate cancer only in 70% of cases
👉🏿👉🏿👉🏿 Micro-ultrasound 29 MHz compared to traditional ultrasound provides a 300% enlarged image of the prostate and ensures tumor detection with 96% accuracy
💠 Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) — detects prostate cancer in 91% of cases and has significant limitations:
• requires intravenous contrast injection, which may cause severe allergy and deterioration of kidney function
• the examination is lengthy
• the patient has to stay in a confined space
• sometimes the examination cannot be performed due to metal implants in the body
• high cost of the examination
• not available in all regions
💡 In response to these challenges, an advanced global technology — micro-ultrasound 29 MHz — has been implemented in the Karazanashvili Robotic Center and its branches, specifically designed for prostate cancer screening and diagnosis
🔬 The effectiveness of micro-ultrasound 29 MHz in prostate cancer diagnostics in some cases even exceeds MRI, in addition:
• micro-ultrasound 29 MHz is 5–6 times faster than MRI
• micro-ultrasound 29 MHz is 2–3 times cheaper compared to MRI
• unlike MRI, micro-ultrasound 29 MHz does not require contrast injection, therefore does not cause allergy or kidney failure
🏥 Where is this innovative screening available?
Micro-ultrasound 29 MHz technology in the Caucasus and Black Sea region is available exclusively at the Karazanashvili Robotic Center and all five of its branches:
• Tbilisi — Vake-Saburtalo
• Tbilisi — Digomi
• Kutaisi
• Zugdidi
• Batumi
